When i was 11 or 12, I channeled my crush energy into stars of little-known sci-fi shows. Specifically, Jerry O’connell of the (still unknown) Sliders and David Duchovny of the (subsequently known) X-Files. My parents owned a Xerox machine, here you can see the unfortunate fruits of obsession combined with early ’90s technology.

It was elementary to him, and I was in elementary school. Oh young Sherlock Holmes, save me from Imothep!

Yul Brynner as the King of Siam (from The King and I). Arrogant and
powerful, but he had an affectionate side and was in some respects
vulnerable. And looking back, an awful lot of eyeliner.

I sort of don’t believe this note is real, but one can dream.

Daniel Stern… in Home Alone. I can’t really account for this one. Maybe how tall he is next to Joe Pesci? It could also have been a subconscious recognition of the fact that he was Kevin Arnold’s grownup voice. More likely, it was some weird, deeply buried burglary fantasy I’d rather ignore.
